Westside
Development Partnership
The Westside Development Partnership was formed to build in-fill, low-income
and first-time buyer homes. We anticipate the first demonstration project of
four homes to be under construction by Fall 2004. By providing affordable, quality
homes to qualified families, the partnership will support existing efforts toward
neighborhood revitalization.
This working partnership is made up of the IECAAC and Community Homes, Inc.
Community Homes, Inc., will oversee and ensure the construction and construction
financing; the IECAAC will be responsible for finding and pre-qualifying the
purchasing families. The Neighborhood Housing Service of the Inland Empire will
financially qualify and provide First-Time Buyer counseling. The city of San
Bernardino will support the project through property transfer and fee participation.
The Demonstration Project is outlined below,
but it is anticipated that other similar projects will follow
based on the number of parcels available to the partnership
via city property transfer.
By building in-fill homes throughout the area, and by participation in existing
home repair, painting and landscaping, both the partnership and the IECAAC acting
alone will increase the pride of ownership and property values of the Westside
of San Bernardino.
